At 6:30 am, we played A Million Dreams in the courtyard of The Grand America Hotel as a man dressed in a white suit walked on white carpet laced with white rose petals to his girlfriend who planned this grand gesture to propose to him! After he said YES, we played All of Me by John Legend as the couple celebrated their brand new engagement. During their photo session we continued serenading them with Marry You by Bruno Mars, You’re My Best Friend, and concluded with Happy Together.
We are back!!! Wedding season has arrived and we are excited to jump in with 3 weddings in 2 weeks! Today we played for Itzel and Matt at Tracy Aviary. The bride requested a special surprise for her groom: The White Birds, a choir piece arranged for string quartet (and so appropriate for an aviary, no?). This song is so special to this sweet couple that they requested all their guests stay seated while we played it in its entirety. Best wishes to the newlywed lovebirds!
Today we had the pleasure of providing the special music at the New Year worship service at Christ United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City. Prelude: To a Wild Rose (MacDowell), Offertory: Barcarolle (Offenbach), Special Music: Interludium in Mode Antico (Glazounow).
Wedding party processional: Flower Duet
Bride’s processional: Canon in D
Recessional: Trumpet Voluntary
Other requests: Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, Rondeau, and (one of our favs) Sweet Home Alabama!
Have you ever seen a more beautiful bride? We love playing at Red Butte Garden. The Rose Garden was the perfect back drop for this gorgeous wedding!
For this lovely indoor ceremony, we played Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring for the wedding party processional. By special request, we played Adele’s To Make You Feel My Love for the brides procession. Afterward, we moved outdoors to provide popular music for the cocktail hour.
This was no ordinary cocktail hour. The couple had an ice sculpture distributing two specific drinks named after each of them! Guests would pick which they wanted and it would be poured through the ice into their glass. Over the last 16 years of playing for 100’s of weddings together, this was a new first for us! The picture doesn’t really do it justice. We were mesmerized by the creative work of art formed by frozen water!
Strings of Elegance played for a lovely wedding ceremony in downtown SLC today.
Let wedding season begin!!!
We provided music for a special commencement ceremony this morning. For many years the Art Institute of SLC has been hiring us to play for their graduating students, this being their last and final graduating class. Congrats to all graduates of this fine institution… thank-you for allowing us the honor and privilege of celebrating all these many years of pomp and circumstance with you!
