Military Wedding Ceremony

Parents’ Processional: Happy Together

Groom & Groomsmen: Thinking Out Loud

Bridesmaids: One Call Away (her special request)

Flower Ceremony: The Feather Theme from Forrest Gump

Recessional: You’re My Best Friend & Marry You

It was a gorgeous morning for a wedding at Red Butte Garden. Blue skies, warm sun, soft breeze. We played a different piece for each group of the wedding party. As part of their vows, the two families performed a unity ceremony in which they pressed flowers to capture this moment in time. The bride requested a new song, which we were happy to learn just for her!

The whole format of the wedding was well planned and executed, just as would be expected from a military family!

Park City Destination Wedding

We love playing in the our beautiful Utah mountains during late summer! For Lauren and Will’s destination wedding, we played exclusively contemporary music.

PROCESSIONAL: Your Song, Elton John

BRIDE PROCESSIONAL: Home, Edward Sharpe & Magnetic Zeros

RECESSIONAL: Don’t Stop Believin’, Journey

We covered 3 hours of string quartet music, including welcome music, ceremony, and cocktail hour.

We are back!!! Wedding season has arrived and we are excited to jump in with 3 weddings in 2 weeks! Today we played for Itzel and Matt at Tracy Aviary. The bride requested a special surprise for her groom: The White Birds, a choir piece arranged for string quartet (and so appropriate for an aviary, no?). This song is so special to this sweet couple that they requested all their guests stay seated while we played it in its entirety. Best wishes to the newlywed lovebirds!

Shelby & Jake

This beautiful bride walked down the aisle to the grooms special request for her: Feather Theme from Forrest Gump. It was an amazing moment! And now we have a lovely new arrangement to add to our repertoire. Congratulations Shelby and Jake!

Coincidentally, one of our original string quartet members, Rebekah Butler, was in town from AFRICA visiting her sister (our 1st violinist Cathy Butler) and she filled in for Meili. Not only do we share fun quartet memories but Rebekah also happened to have made a home movie around the Feather Theme while in grade school! Since then she has gotten her Masters Degree in Music Performance and has lived all over the world. Shortly after this wedding we sent her on her way up to Idaho to stay with our violist Michelle’s sister to audition for the Boise Philharmonic and she got a principal position in this prestigious group. We are always so proud to say that we gave this talented musician and friend her start back in February of 2002 when we established Strings of Elegance! :)
